Nell Laughon was an American artist primarily known for her work with silhouettes. Active in the early to mid-20th century, she created intricate paper cut silhouettes. The Laughon Silhouette Collection at the National Portrait Gallery, contains over a hundred works, offering insight into this unique art form as well as the social and cultural contexts of her subjects.
